The vision for the HVA is to create a joined up approach to volleyball across the County, for the benefit of all those who play, officiate or coach in this exciting sport.
With such a large and successful array of volleyball being played across the County, a key number of clubs have come together to re-establish, or for a better word reinvent, Hampshire Volleyball Association
By having some clear key aims, HVA intends to help support the hard work and innovative ideas that individual clubs have.
By coming together it is hoped that volleyball across Hampshire will offer something for everyone. From high end competition playing in the National League, to social competitive volleyball in the local leagues to the development of more junior, sitting and beach players, HVA believes it can help everyone get into volleyball.
Being on the South coast has its advantages to volleyball too. Beach volleyball is becoming a big pull for many people wanting to engage in this exciting sport. At present there are three purpose built courts in Southsea and one on Hayling Island, with another three being built at Team Southampton's training base in Eastleigh.
Other recent developments have seen the creation of a sitting volleyball team at Portsmouth Volleyball Club, with a 2nd team planned at Team Southampton for the start of the Grand Prix season 2013-14.
Finally, Hampshire has a decent grassroots set up which has engaged a large number of young people between the ages of 11-18 to take up the sport.
