Development Plan 2014-2017 - Adult Participation

Year 1 – 2014/15 By Whom By When Cost RAG Comment
1.1 - Work with SHIOW to develop 1 workplace tournament  MS Apr-15   Workplace Challenge programme postponed by SHIOW
1.2 - Create 3 new Go Spike sessions MS Apr-15   Bitterne Leisure Centre, Gosport Leisure Centre and Portchester Community School
1.3 – Sustain ALL 3 Go Spike sessions MS Mar-15   All GO Spike sessions are still active
1.4 – Establish 2 Go Spike events as part of May ‘Big Weekend’ MS May-15   Havant Park and Gosport LC
1.5 – Establish 2 Go Spike events as part of Aug ‘Big Weekend’ MS Aug-15   IOW VC, Portsmouth VC, Basingstoke VC, Team Southampton VC, Gosport LC
1.6 - Maintain HVA league structure and look to increase team participation to 6 ladies' teams and 10 men's teams  BC/MS Sep-14     Not achieved. In Sept ‘14 there were 5 of each.
1.7 - Hold meeting with PVA and SADVA to discuss county competition structure TN/MS Jul-15   Not achieved.
Year 2 – 2015/16 By Whom By When Cost RAG Comment
2.1 – Rebrand 10 existing club/recreational sessions as Go Spike MS Dec-15   12 - namely; South Hants VC, Winchester VC, Farnborough VC, Fluor, East Hants VC, Portsmouth VC, Basingstoke VC (x2), Roke VC, North Harbour VC, Hampshire Hedgehogs, Urbond, Portsmouth SVC.
2.2 – Sustain ALL 13 current Go Spike sessions MS Ongoing   All 13 still active.
2.3 – Establish 3 Go Spike events as part of May ‘Big Weekend’ MS May-16   6 Go Spike Big Weekend events took place across Hampshire.
2.4 – Establish 3 Go Spike events as part of Aug ‘Big Weekend’ MS Aug-16   4 Go Spike Big Weekend events took place across Hampshire
2.5 – Maintain HVA league structure and look to increase team participation to 6 ladies’ teams and 6 men’s teams BC/HVA Sep-15      
2.6 – Work with SHIOW to develop 1 Workplace Challenge MS Mar-16   Interest from Basingstoke VC but lost momentum. Will try again next year.
Year 3 – 2016/17 By Whom By When Cost RAG Comment
3.1 – Rebrand/create 4 existing club/recreational sessions as Go Spike  MS Dec 16   Tidworth Army Base, David Lloyd Southampton, The Hub Eastleigh, Southampton University staff (x2).
3.2 – Sustain all 20 current Go Spike sessions MS Apr 17   Ongoing
3.3 – Establish 4 Go Spike events as part of May ‘Big Weekend’ MS May 17  
3.4 – Establish 4 Go Spike events as part of Aug ‘Big Weekend’ MS Aug 17  
3.5 - Organise a Workplace Challenge Volleyball Event Energise me / MS Jul 16     Organised a successful evening of volleyball with support of County Sports Partnership Energise Me. 5 local Portsmouth Companies took part in an evening of Volleyball/Sitting Volleyball delivered by 3 local Volleyball Clubs
3.6 - Maintain HVA league structure and look to increase team participation to 8 ladies’ teams and 12 men’s teams BC/HVA Apr 17     The numbers were ambitious and not informed, but the transition to a Grand Prix style event has proved extremely effective.
3.7 – Create clear competition structure and pathways to support and develop volleyball in all areas of the country BC/HVA Apr 17   Ongoing
3.8 – Have teams being promoted into the HVA league from PVA and SADVA BC/AC/ AE Apr 17   Teams wil be invited to participate in the HVA Grand Prix.
