The County can boast a decent number of qualified coaches. These range from three local coaches holding the international FIVB Level 1 and Level 2 to many Volleyball England Level 2 and Level 1.
Level 1 is the entry level qualification into coaching which allows coaches to support more experienced coaches run training session but not run them solely themselves.
Level 2 qualification allows a coach to run a session on their own. Volleyball England require National League clubs to have registered coaches qualified to Level 2 standard, to run training sessions.
From an HVA stand point we would like all clubs in the County to consider having at least one coach qualified to Level 2 standard. The correlation between having a qualified coach and the development of a club is clearly apparent.
There is a need to continually support the coaches who are working so hard to develop volleyball in their clubs.
The HVA wants to offer opportunities to existing coaches to develop their skills level while encouraging more new coaches into the sport. To this end over the next year the HVA is offering some Level 1 and Level 2 coaching courses at a discounted rate to any Hampshire volleyballer who is interested in helping develop the sport in their area.
